‘Wish you were here’

This was an exhibition I designed and curated combining the work of four photographers for the Fringe Arts Festival Bath. Our concept was that we use social media platforms in todays culture as a way of telling our loved ones what we are up to and send messages home, like a modern day postcard. In this playful exhibition the images selected were printed out as physical postcards with the hashtags and blurb on the back.

‘The man who bought stone henge and other stories’

Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of communication. It continues to play an integral part in society and the exchange of information, helping us to understand the world around us. Our knowledge of history is dependent on what has been recounted and remembered. This exhibition I co-curated, looked at the importance of storytelling in history, we did a call out to artists and the selected show displayed works from both local and international artists. Due to the number of short film submissions we also held a film night and talk event to display and discuss storytelling within a moving image.

Sebastiao Salgado - Genesis

In agreement with 31 Studio and Salgado himself we organised and raised the funds to host an exhibition of this world renowned photographers work in the Royal Literary & Scientific Institute, Bath. I volunteered as part of the PhotoBath Collective as a key member of the exhibition committee who coordinated the exhibition. My role was to build and manage the Kickstarter campaign. The exhibition was a great success in the City.

Artificial I & II

Artificial was a photography exhibition in two parts, in two very different locations across Bristol, we were curious to show our work and see the response in two very different parts of a city. This was part of the Bristol Photography Festival and I was part of a collective of 5 photographers. We each responded to the theme Artificial. I documented artificial training facilities for fire and forensics education trying to capture the unusual feeling of something looking real and not real at the same time.
